Thank you so much for your letters. I now understand the statement that missionaries live for mail, and I've only been out a week! I wish I could write you all individual letters but my time is very limited on P-days. So, I'll write a long one to all of you!
Things are going well here. I've adjusted quite quickly to the MTC life. I really enjoy it. I'm not even tired or anything! Things with my companion are good. We get along well. We are complete opposites, but we are able to be a good companionship. I think we are past the state of being on our best behavior for each other. From the first I had a problem with her in that she is very bossy, basically she was commanding me what to do. But we talked about it and she has changed a lot! Yesterday she got mad at me and ignored me for an hour because I walked too fast to class. Though it sounds like a stupid thing to be upset about, I realized that it really wasn't cool of me. She not able to walk as fast because of her weight. Anyways, I don't know why I am telling you this other than that it is quite an adjustment to think constantly of a companion. But I really enjoy it. She can be really fun to with too.

How is Kaitlyn doing? I got the picture and footprint yesterday. Thank you so much for sending that. I read it on one of our breaks in class and as soon as I saw the picture I started bawling. Then when I read that she is not doing too great I bawled even more. My district was totally cool about it. They are all so rad! We are going to the temple today and I definitely will keep Kaitlyn in mind!
I can't believe about the van! Those crazy neighbors send more things down that hill, but that is kind of ridiculous!
Like I said before, my district is rad! I love them all so much. They are all like my brothers. Sorry mom, you've gained 9 more sons! :) Our district leader, Elder Miller is my favorite! He is so rad! He is from Virginia and has a rad accent. he and I get along so well! I feel bad for him though, he's the only one in our district who hasn't gotten mail. He has a fiancee at home and he keeps expecting mail from her, but it hasn't happened. Pretty sad! The rest of the district is really cool. We have a lot of fun together, sometimes too much fun.
I got my flight plans yesterday. I am the only one flying to South Africa. I guess I don't get a companion! I met an Elder today who came up to me and said, "Sister Zenger, are you going to Durban?", Surprised, I said, "Yes". He then told me that his sister is there and she wrote him and asked him to look for me at the MTC and say hi. Her name is Erin Merkley. I totally recognize the name, but have no idea who she is. He said that she and I would be companions. I don't know if he just assumed that or if she knows somehow. It was strange!
Now for a little business. There are a few things that I could use. They aren't critical or anything, so Mom, you decide if you want to spend the money on them. My watch broke, I need another one. Any cheap one would do. Just so that it tells time. I would prefer to have a leather (brown) band. The second thing are stamps. I bought a book of them here, but since I won't have extra funds for them in South Africa, I figure I might as well get a bunch now. the third thing which is more frivolous is a tape recorder. Just like a small one that I can record with to make tapes to send home and such. If you can find one that is really cheap, that's great, if not, that's fine, don't worry about it. If you decide to buy this stuff you can either mail it to me here or give it to me at the airport.
Speaking of the airport. For Monday (15) I will be leaving here at 3:30 am, so I'll be at the airport for quite a while before 7:40, so just if you want to be there for a while or whatever!
Well, I should end. But I want you to know how much I love you all. I am amazed that I have not been homesick yet! I thought for sure I would be, but I do think of you. I am having a great experience here at the MTC. I've been learning SO much! i just love it! What a great experience!
Please let me know about Kaitlyn. I am praying for her. Thanks for everything!
I love you!
Michelle
