Family-
Wow, has this been a week! It's been crazy and I haven't even done a bit of proselyting. The week began by us moving. The thing is, it wasn't just moving. We moved into the home of a woman (a member) who died a couple of months ago - the same I helped dress for her cremation. She has no family at all so she left her flat and almost everything in it to the church. No one took the time to clean anything out, so when we were told to move in, we had to clear and clean it out first. that took us 2 full days (with 4 of us, actually 8 of us on one day). That was so exhausting! We finally were able to move in. It took us forever to get the electricity to be turned on and then once we did it turned off the next day. So, we went by candle light for a while. that was quite the adventure. We haven't gotten the kitchen fully cleaned out yet, it's actually a disaster area with frogs and cockroaches and all. So, I haven't really been eating (except for the odd meal at a members or at the mission home and raisins). We are going to finish the kitchen today. It's a nice flat though. I like it.
This week we also had a mission conference. That was nice as well. Sis. Merkley is here on her way home. I was able to see her at conference. I sure do love her. She is great! She's coming to spend a few days with me here in Toti. I think that will be fun.
Then this weekend has been the mini MTC for the new South African Missionaries. That was a lot of fun to participate in. I really felt like I was back at the real MTC, except as a teacher. It was a great experience though. I realized how much I have learned about missionary work since I have been here.
Yesterday we had another awesome baptism! It was neat. The Relief Society Pres. husband and son got baptized. She has been a member for 4 years. Her husband just had a problem with the word of wisdom and tithing. He knew the church was true, but wasn't willing to obey these laws. Well, he changed his mind. He is going to be an incredible member of the church as well as his son.
I'm going to write a thank you to the Mckay family today and just thank them for all their fasting and prayers. They've also put our name on the prayer roll of the temple. They are such an awesome family! Anyhow, I'll thank them on behalf of our family.
I look forward to getting back to our normal missionary schedule. It was kind of a nice break or a change of pace, but I miss teaching the Gospel.
I got my dress. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love it. It is so nice to have something new to wear! It was funny how many people noticed it. Everyone loved it. I had members ask me if they can have it when I leave. They were sad when I told them that it was for my trip home! :) Thank you so much. Sorry Kim, you can't have it! :)
Well, I had better end. I have so much to do today. I hope all is well at home. I love you all very much!
Love,
Michelle :)
